Em 2018, a agricultura atingiu 1,7% do Valor Acrescentado Bruto (VAB) de toda a economia e a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de arroz, que \u00e9 colhida em Setembro, ultrapassa 150 milh\u00f5es de quilos por ano.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"1060\" height=\"597\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4IE8QRpcZ7M?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=pt-PT&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Lagostim Vermelho<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>O lagostim vermelho do Louisiana \u00e9 um crust\u00e1ceo omn\u00edvoro de \u00e1gua doce que em sua fase adulta &#8220;come tudo o que encontra&#8221; e, embora prefira a subst\u00e2ncia animal, &#8220;\u00e9 um consumidor de plantas de arroz, especialmente em seus est\u00e1gios iniciais&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Mas eles dependem da exist\u00eancia de \u00e1gua&#8221;, disse o pesquisador, para que os agricultores adotem t\u00e9cnicas para controlar as inunda\u00e7\u00f5es nos arrozais durante os est\u00e1gios iniciais da produ\u00e7\u00e3o &#8220;para que n\u00e3o sejam atraentes para os caranguejos&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>No Alentejo portugu\u00eas, a enorme densidade de caranguejo vermelho americano \u00e9 respons\u00e1vel pela destrui\u00e7\u00e3o de 41% da produ\u00e7\u00e3o de arroz; &#8220;com tr\u00eas ou cinco exemplares por metro quadrado, nenhuma planta pode sobreviver&#8221;, acrescentou.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2155\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2155\" class=\" wp-image-2155\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lifeinvasaqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/JGN7691.jpg?resize=290%2C146&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"146\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2155\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lagostim vermelho do Lousiana. Guill\u00e9n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pedro Anast\u00e1cio, que participa no projecto europeu Life Invasaqua para a dissemina\u00e7\u00e3o e controlo de esp\u00e9cies ex\u00f3ticas invasoras aqu\u00e1ticas (IAS) em Espanha e Portugal, explicou que a dispers\u00e3o do caranguejo vermelho ocorre atrav\u00e9s dos rios, mas, al\u00e9m disso, &#8220;\u00e9 capaz de caminhar at\u00e9 1,5 quil\u00f3metros fora de \u00e1gua&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Por outro lado, &#8220;pequenos esp\u00e9cimes podem ser transportados por aves aqu\u00e1ticas, rodas de trator, redes de pesca ou atrav\u00e9s de equipamentos cient\u00edficos at\u00e9 mais de cem quil\u00f4metros&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>E sua abund\u00e2ncia nos arrozais -at\u00e9 300 exemplares por metro quadrado &#8211; implica outro problema adicional para a agricultura da regi\u00e3o, a presen\u00e7a de aves, como cegonhas, gar\u00e7as ou outras lim\u00edcolas, que se alimentam delas e, al\u00e9m dos benef\u00edcios que trazem ao seu controle, causam danos irrepar\u00e1veis ao crescimento das plantas de arroz.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Preven\u00e7\u00e3o<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>O pesquisador lembrou a import\u00e2ncia de conhecer os vetores de entrada e os riscos associados \u00e0 esp\u00e9cie; &#8220;se estiver em uma bacia hidrogr\u00e1fica, \u00e9 dif\u00edcil evitar sua dispers\u00e3o para outra, mas em \u00e1reas isoladas sua passagem pode ser evitada obrigando, por exemplo, que barcos que tenham estado em uma \u00e1rea contaminada sejam desinfetados ao sair dessa \u00e1rea.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Para o investigador da Universidade de \u00c9vora, o controlo desta esp\u00e9cie, &#8220;imposs\u00edvel de erradicar&#8221;, depende tamb\u00e9m da legisla\u00e7\u00e3o portuguesa que permite a sua explora\u00e7\u00e3o comercial; &#8220;os pescadores portugueses exportam-na viva para Espanha e isto \u00e9 bom para controlar a esp\u00e9cie, mas ilegal&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Outras esp\u00e9cies<\/span><\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_2158\" style=\"width: 351px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2158\" class=\" wp-image-2158\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lifeinvasaqua.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/JGN7587.jpg?resize=341%2C248&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"341\" height=\"248\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-2158\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gambusia holbrooki. Guill\u00e9n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ele tamb\u00e9m se referiu a outro EEI de arrozais, Gambusia holbrooki, um pequeno peixe nativo da Am\u00e9rica do Norte introduzido na pen\u00ednsula para tentar controlar &#8220;sem sucesso&#8221; o mosquito que transmite mal\u00e1ria e que &#8220;por si s\u00f3 n\u00e3o representa um problema para o cultivo de arroz, mas para outras esp\u00e9cies de peixes nativos, que ele desloca&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>No caso da am\u00eaijoa asi\u00e1tica (Corbicula fluminea), muito comum em ambientes arenosos e menos comum em arrozais, sua alta densidade &#8220;pode causar problemas em termos ecol\u00f3gicos e entupir as bombas em \u00e1reas de capta\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1gua&#8221;, alertou Anast\u00e1cio, que destacou que j\u00e1 existem m\u00e9todos de controle qu\u00edmico que n\u00e3o prejudicam as esp\u00e9cies nativas e foram testados com sucesso.<\/p>\n<p>E com rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Physella acuta, caracol nativo da Am\u00e9rica do Norte, muito abundante nos arrozais, alertou sobre sua r\u00e1pida dispers\u00e3o e adapta\u00e7\u00e3o, embora &#8220;n\u00e3o preocupe muito os agricultores&#8221;, que conseguem controlar sua popula\u00e7\u00e3o com mudan\u00e7as na altura da \u00e1gua e processos qu\u00edmicos.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a
